Prototyping Workshop Expansion: New Equipment and a Dedicated Space

“BEFORE”

I’m excited to share some updates from my prototyping workshop! As much as I enjoy working with my DIY desktop CNC milling machine and mid-range 3D printers, they were no longer enough to meet the growing demands of my projects. That’s why I’ve recently expanded my setup with new equipment to broaden my prototyping capabilities:

  • Precision Manual Machines: A compact yet powerful precision mill and lathe, perfect for fine-tuning detailed components.
  • 60W CO₂ CNC Laser Cutter: Equipped with an industrial chiller, this laser cutter allows for precise cutting and engraving on a variety of materials.
  • CNC Router: Featuring a robust 2.2 kW spindle, standalone controller, and a 500 x 750 mm working area. This machine came as a DIY kit, which makes the assembly process both challenging and rewarding.

“IN PROGRESS”

In addition to new equipment, I’ve also moved into a dedicated workshop space to accommodate these machines and optimize my workflow. The equipment is currently being commissioned and fine-tuned, and I’m diving deep into learning the unique features and capabilities of each one.

While my focus remains on functional, engineering-oriented prototyping, I also enjoy working on creative, artsy projects and custom gadgets. If you have any one-off jobs or prototyping needs, feel free to get in touch – I’m always open to new challenges and collaborations.

Stay tuned for more updates as I continue to explore the possibilities with this expanded setup!
